Nicholas the Florentine, Allegory of Justice with St. Lawrence and St. John of Trogir

1606
Bas-relief
Loggia of the Tribunal, Trogir, Croatia

The relief overlooks the loggia where trials involving commoners were held. In the upper register is Justice with her scales. On the left St. John of Trogir, who died in 1111, holds a maquette of the city. He is Trogir's patron saint, celebrated there on November 14. On the right St. Lawrence holds a gridiron, or possibly a pitchfork whose handle has now been lost.
